Through the Woods

Through the Woods, 10x8, Gouache

I love simple little scenes like this.  This was on a little wooded road that ran beside a small river near Mount Vernon, Ohio.  The light bouncing through the trees and the shadows across the road seem to suggest the chirping of birds and the rustle of leaves.   Somewhere in the background, you can hear the gurgle of the water nearby.

  1. Very Nice! I especially like your departure from the very dark shadows in this piece. I like seeing more light and color in your work. Bravo!

    • Thanks, Delton! Those darks are pretty ingrained in me, and I’m trying to move away from them. It’s not easy, though. Glad you like this one.

  2. Lovely painting and lively fresh greens. So cheerful as I look out on ice and snow!
